Better health information powered by people like me

By USA Health

We established USA Health with a profound yet simple mission to provide trustworthy health information to consumers, fueled by the health experiences of a group of individuals like themselves, who we refer to as People Like Me or PLM.

When symptoms arise, it can be difficult to know which doctor to see, what condition you may have, or which treatment options are best suited for you. However, by comparing your case to other individuals with similar biological traits, such as age, gender, body mass, and blood pressure, you can gain insights into how doctors have diagnosed and treated individuals with conditions similar to yours. With access to the health experiences of People Like Me, you no longer have to feel uncertain about what’s happening in your body.

We all understand the value of learning from other people’s health journeys to unlock powerful insights for better health. Online forums and Facebook groups are full of patients with headaches or back pain sharing their experiences with one another. However, it can be challenging to determine if a treatment that worked for one person will work for another. Moreover, searching for information about your condition online can be daunting as the information provided is typically generic and often inaccurate, misleading, and alarming.

Just as we rely on social wisdom to choose restaurants or hire plumbers, we are committed to bringing this same kind of knowledge to healthcare management.

Our mission is a massive undertaking because while PLM health data exists, it is scattered across various electronic medical record systems and genetic databases that do not communicate with each other. Biometric information such as steps taken, chronic symptoms, and sleep is tracked using various apps that may not be integrated with each other. Even if we gather all of this information, it may be challenging to interpret its implications for our health.

We established USA Health because we believe that it is time for a change!

Everyone should have access to free and easy-to-use information to manage their health. While others are building symptom checkers based on textbook rules, our team of mathematicians, doctors, and software engineers are using advanced machine learning techniques to transform vast amounts of clinical health data into knowledge that can improve our health.

We are excited to introduce our Symptom Checker, an AI personal health assistant powered by People Like Me, to assist you. The K in USA Health stands for knowledge because, with knowledge, you can take control of your health.

You can chat with us about your symptoms, and we will compare you to individuals with similar traits, revealing how they were diagnosed and treated. At the initial launch, the AI will be capable of addressing most primary care conditions for adults, with plans to expand its capabilities in the future. Each conversation starts with a two-way dialogue similar to the questions your doctor asks during your first diagnostic visit. Our goal is to help answer three critical questions:

What could be the cause of your symptoms?
Do you need any tests?
What are all the different treatment options available?
We store your chats so you can share them with your doctor, and over time, your private profile becomes a repository of your health history that you can carry with you even if you change doctors or insurance. The more information you provide, the more our AI learns about your health. Your data will always remain private.

If you wish to participate, start by downloading the USA Health app, start a chat, and let us know your thoughts. We will continue to update you on new developments and insights we gain along the way.
